Dear Abby, Cara, and BeccaI believe the stalks of celery will absorb the colors that you have in the glasses in 12 or 14 hours. I do not know if the size of the celery or the colors that you have selected will make a difference. Please let me know if these factors make a difference. I am very happy that you are learning so much. I love you.

I think the celery will draw up the colored liquid in the glasses, turning the celery a combination of the celery green and whatever color liquid is in the glasses. (White carnations do the same thing, and are very pretty, in my opinion. Florists do this so they will have particular shades as they need them.)
Hope this helps.

I think the celery will turn the same color as the food coloring in the water and that the leaves will wilt. I also think the celery stalk will get very soft and mooshy (that's a scientific term). Is this how the Veggie Tales got started...a scientific experiment gone terribly wrong????????
I agree with your Grammy. I use to put flowers in colored water as a child because they would soak up the color in the water and make beautiful new colors of flowers.
Hope you have lots of fun.

I don't know what these things will do. Ask me about spelling.
I do know I don't like celery unless it has melted cheese on it no matter what color it is.
But maybe you do like it. I hope so! I hear it's good for you! We love you girls.
